I wish to commend the parish community of St. Catherine of Siena for the many signs of dedication, commitment, and sacrifice since the parish’s establishment forty-five years ago. Today, more than 3,000 families have chosen to make St. Catherine of Siena their spiritual home. You are a parish that is rich in ministries and services responding to the needs of your fellow parishioners.

In our constantly changing world, Catholics look to their parish for a sense of connection with God and the Body of Christ, which is the depository of our apostolic faith. Under the leadership of your dedicated Pastor, Rev. Jesus Soriano, as well as the dedicated service of faithful staff members and volunteers, St. Catherine of Siena Parish has become a vibrant center for the celebration and teaching of our Catholic faith.

Now you take an important step in the physical expansion of your parish. While the heart of every parish is found in the commitment and faithful witness of its members, facilities are needed to provide the environment where the spiritual, sacramental and formation needs of the parish community are met. Our lives are rooted in the parish community, where we worship God in the joyous celebration of the Mass and sacraments, proclaim the Word of God to all people, witness the love and redemptive healing of Christ, and serve those in need both in the Church and society.

As you embark upon the construction of a new Parish Life Center and the acquisition of facilities for the expansion of school-based educational initiatives, I am pleased to add my voice to the many others in expressing support and prayers for the success of this endeavor. Whenever one of our parishes sets out on such a project, it is a time of great excitement and anticipation for all of us.

I am confident that the faith community of St. Catherine of Siena will meet this challenge with the same generous spirit that you have demonstrated since the parish was established. I wish to extend to you my prayerful support. I pray that all your sacrifices of time, talent and treasure will serve to give greater glory to God and strengthen your personal dedication to His works.
