The Seven Sacraments of the Church
"but whoever drinks the water I shall give will never thirst; the water I shall give will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life."
- Jn 4:14
Our Lord Jesus Christ is the source of living water, the divine life. He gives us this life and increases it within us by means of seven channels of grace, which are called the sacraments.
Through the sacraments, Jesus Christ unites us to himself, ever deepening our union with him, ever increasing our holiness. The sacraments are a most special means through which Christ is present with us throughout our lives to provide us with all the help and strength we need to grow in the divine life.
Through Baptism, our Lord first joins us to his Mystical Body and gives us the divine life. Through the Anointing of the Sick, he is there to prepare us for death and eternal life. Through Confirmation, Reconciliation, the Eucharist, Marriage and Holy Orders, he strengthens, forgives, nourishes, and prepares us for our various vocations and callings.
