Before the ascension of Christ, He gathered his apostles and He told them, "I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth! Go to the people of all nations and make them My disciples. Baptize them in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, and teach them to do everything I have told you. I will be with you always, even until the end of the world." (Matt 28:18-20)
The apostles formed the "Church" at that time, and this commissioning was a command to all of us who believe. We assume, with a stretch of reasoning, that a website could be a contemporary, significant and valuable instrument of evangelization.
While we want you to "receive," learn and be informed, be in touch and be connected with the Faith Community at St. Catherine's, we also wish that you "give," share your knowledge, experience, opinions, questions, jokes, personal conversion / faith stories... via the parish website.
Thus the parish website becomes a third "central" site of networking, inter-relating and "celebrating" among parishioners (and other people)... the two others being the Sunday Holy Mass in the church and the Parish office.
Welcome to the parish website! Let's put it to good use! May it help you grow in knowledge and faith. May it nurture you to become "steward" parishioners, feeling cared for and willing to share, formed in God's love through the brother and sister members of St. Catherine's parish!
