2024 Easter Message

Dear brothers and sisters of St. Catherine of St. Siena Parish community,

Happy Easter!

Amid the many challenges and difficulties that surround us, let us hold fast to the message of Easter: Christ is risen from the dead! This proclamation echoes throughout the Church, bringing hope and light to a world plagued by suffering and turmoil. Just as Jesus foretold his death and resurrection using the analogy of a grain of wheat, we too can find solace in the knowledge that through death comes new life and abundant fruit. The resurrection of Christ is the true hope of the world, a hope that never disappoints.

Let me take this opportunity to share with you the incredible developments taking place within our community, reflecting our commitment to living out our faith and spreading the Gospel message far and wide. Here are some key points to celebrate during this Easter season:

  1. Active Collaboration Between School and Church: Our parish has embraced a spirit of collaboration between the school and the church, recognizing the importance of education and spiritual formation hand in hand. This partnership ensures that our young members are nurtured not only academically but also spiritually, laying a strong foundation for their faith journey.

  2. Growing Number of Parish Members: It is truly heartwarming to witness the growth of our parish family, welcoming new members into our community and fostering a sense of belonging and unity among us. This expansion is a testament to our shared dedication to living out our faith and supporting one another on this journey of discipleship.

In light of these wonderful developments, let us remember that as members of this parish, we are called to be "Easter people," embodying the hope and joy of the Resurrection in all that we do. Let us continue to support one another, nurture our faith, and spread the light of Christ to all those around us. As we celebrate Easter, we also remember those among us who are homebound, unable to be with us physically in our celebrations because of illness and old age. Let us continue to pray for those who are mourning the loss of a loved one, feeling the ache of an empty space at the table and the void in their hearts. Let us offer them our prayers and support, knowing that Christ, who conquered death, is with them in their sorrow, bringing hope and comfort in their grief.

Again, amidst the challenges and trials, we face, let us not forget to count our blessings. Let us rejoice in the gift of life, in the love of family and friends, in the beauty of creation that surrounds us. Let us give thanks for the hope that Easter brings, the hope that springs eternal from the Resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ.

May this Easter be a time of renewal, of faith, of love, and of peace. May the risen Christ fill our hearts with joy and our lives with His grace. Let us go forth as bearers of His light, spreading His message of hope and salvation to all we meet. Happy Easter to you all!
