Every Wednesday starting March 4 at 7pm at Parish Life Center…
Everyone is invited to view an engaging video presentation entitled: Jesus: The Way, the Truth, and the Life starting March 4, 2020 every Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. in St. Catherine of Siena Parish Life Center.
Jesus is our savior, our redeemer, our Lord, and our God. Our belief in Jesus is what makes us who we are as Catholics, as Christians, but do we really know him as we should? Who is Jesus for you? Is he a part of your life, or is he at the center of your life as he should be?
This 5-week video study program is anchored in the life of Christ as presented in the Gospels. We’ll explore the entirety of Jesus’ life—who he is, what he is really like, what he taught, what he did for our salvation, and what all of this means for us as Catholics today.
The study is presented by world renowned theologians and biblical scholars Marcellino D’Ambrosio, Jeff Cavins, and Edward Sri and was filmed in the Holy Land so you can experience the extraordinary world in which Jesus lived and taught—the historical context, the politics, the clashing cultures, the history, and the ancient land—and see where the most significant events of his life took place, from his infancy to his ascension.
We will learn how Jesus is God Incarnate, fully divine and fully human. We’ll experience his intimacy with the Father, his revelation of the Father’s love, and his gift of the Holy Spirit to each of us. Most importantly, our encounter with Christ will empower us to know and love him in a new and life-changing way.
We hope you can join us!

Annual Catholic Appeal 2020
The 2020 Annual Catholic Appeal emphasizes that the finest gifts we have to offer are the mercy and joy of the Lord Jesus. Bishop Soto reminds us that whenever we share in the mission of Jesus, we do so as His friends and companions. We become messengers of mercy and heralds of hope for others.
“Through the Annual Catholic Appeal, the whole Catholic community leans in to help our Catholic Charities…and our local parishes…to open doors and hearts to the mercy of Christ. Join me in making a sacrificial gift this year.”
Walk for Life West Coast 2020
Thank you to all who were able to come to this important event!
What Should I Wear for Mass?
St. Catherine of Siena’s Liturgy Committee would like to share some information from the Diocese of Sacramento Office of Worship for all Lay Ecclesial Ministers serving regularly. Help us to “improve the quality of our Liturgy” in how we dress during Mass!
St. Catherine of Siena’s Liturgy Committee would like to share some information from the Diocese of Sacramento Office of Worship for all Lay Ecclesial Ministers serving regularly. Help us to “improve the quality of our Liturgy” in how we dress during Mass.
Why It Matters…
“You may say, “God doesn’t care how we dress; God looks on the heart!” True. God doesn’t need us to dress nicely; WE need it, and those around us deserve it. Dressing nice is a way of saying to our fellow parishioners “I respect you; you’re important to me.” It’s also a way for us to show respect for God, for as St. John said, “He who does not love his brother who he has seen, cannot love God whom he has not seen.” (1 Jn. 4:20). “Respect” is just another word for “love.”
When we think of “liturgical environment” the first thing that usually comes to mind is decorating the church and hanging liturgically appropriate fabrics for different seasons. But the most important element of the liturgical environment is not colored fabric, but your attire. Yes, your attire is arguably the most important element of the “liturgical environment.” If you want to improve the quality of the liturgy in your church, you might want to start with yourself and how you dress for Mass. ”

“All-powerful and ever-living God, when Abraham left his native land and departed from his people you kept him safe through all his journeys. Protect these soldiers. Be their constant companion and their strength in battle, their refuge in every adversity. Guide them, O Lord, that they may return home in safety. We ask this through Christ our Lord.

New Features
We would like to highlight some of the new features of our website. Please take some time to look around and feel free to contact the parish office if you have questions, comments, or concerns.
I’m New
Visitors and new parishioners can visit the I’m New page for information about our parish and the ways to get involved.
Get Involved
We have created a Ministries directory so that you can find out about the ways you can grow in your faith and serve your brothers and sisters in our parish community.
Ministry leaders are invited to contact the parish office to update their parish’s contact information and give a short blurb about their ministry.
On Mobile
Our website is now more responsive on smaller screens. When you navigate to the website on a tablet or mobile device, you will see a hamburger icon in the top right-hand corner with the word “Menu”. Click on it to see the navigation menu. Each menu item will have a drop down list of the same pages you will find in the navigation bar on a desktop or laptop computer.
Alternatively, we have links at the footer of every page that show the same links you will find in the navigation bar.
Search
If you cannot find something on our new parish website, we have included a search page. Just find the link to the search menu in the navigation bar and type in what you want to look for.
Online Giving
We have included a link to our online giving platform ParishSoft in our navigation. If you would like to make a one time or recurring donation to our Capital Campaign, visit the Give Online link. We hope to expand our online giving opportunities in the future.
MyParish App
We launched our MyParish app a few months ago. If you have not downloaded it already, we have included links to download the app on our website.
Next Steps
The new website is the next step to grow our church’s communications. As digital communication becomes an increasingly important part of our daily lives, St. Catherine’s hopes to bring others to Christ through whatever means possible.
Thanks
We would like to express our gratitude to the parishioners who have worked on the parish website:
Mathew Perdiguerra for designing our current parish website
Mark Perdiguerra for providing support.
The parishioners of St. Catherine’s who volunteered as website usability testers who gave their feedback.
Angelo deVigal who designed our previous website.
